Inservices, Training, Speaking Engagements
A note from Sherokee:
Speaking on bereavement is one of my 'loves.' With my background in teaching and business consulting, working with groups and facilitating programs comes easily to me. When Brennan died, I realized that all of that public speaking had prepared me for my newest mission - to help change the way families were cared for in our country and beyond.
Within a few months, I was on the road, with my husband's blessing and often a baby on my hip, working to inspire caregivers to change the care they were giving families. For over 25 years, I have continued this mission of speaking at hospitals, funeral homes, to doctors, clergy and very often bereaved families. Slowly, and with the work of others who share this mission, the world of bereavement care, particularly for parents experiencing the loss of their baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, and neonatal death has improved.
However, there is still much to be done to ensure that compassionate, informed, and consistent care is given to every one of these families. With your help we can continue to make things better. If you are interested in discussing and/or possibly sponsoring a workshop, inservice or need a speaker for a conference or support group, contact Sherokee Ilse at sherokeeilse@yahoo.com, 952-476-1303.
